About me
John Panepinto is a NY based content creator. Born and raised in south Brooklyn, he graduated from CUNY Brooklyn College with a degree in Television and Radio Production with a minor in English studies. During his time at BC he developed a morning talk radio show called “The Cool Side of the Pillow” where he developed skills in hosting, editing, writing and sound production. From there he ran sound design for a while in the private sector, in auditoriums for large corporate gatherings and town halls.
All the while continuing to perform on stage and off around NY honing his performance, on camera, storytelling and film editing skills. Eventually this led him to Fuse Media where he became senior closed captioner, which made use of his attention to detail and eye for continuity, as well as all of his ability to easily learn new software. Ever the performer, John also had the opportunity to be on air host for Fuse’s digital platform on a few occasions. He now uses all of the skills he has gathered to host, write, edit and produce his own podcast. These techniques include Adobe Premiere, Audition and After Effects as well as Telestream’s Caption Maker and Mac Caption, Final Cut Pro and Pro Tools.
In addition to performing on stage for many years at the Rockaway Theater Company, John has taken on various technical roles within the theatrical process. These tasks could include running sound live, recording and editing video content either of the show or used within the show or helping create motion graphics. As well as performing these tasks, John keeps his eye on the future. Trying to develop new innovative processes and uses for equipment to help streamline the A/V process and bring the world of theater into the 21st Century.
